Overview
If you intend to come to the UK and work for an employer in the country, you must apply for a Skilled Worker visa.
Who can apply
You can apply for a Skilled Worker visa if you’ve been offered a skilled job in the UK and you earn enough points as a skilled worker.
You must also have all of the following to be eligible for a Skilled Worker visa:
- certificate of sponsorship reference number
- an ‘appropriate’ salary
- meet the English language requirement
- certain amount of saving to prove you can support yourself and your family.
Family members
Your family members will be able to live with you in the UK.
Extend your visa or switch to this category
If you’re already in the UK, you may be able to extend your Skilled Worker visa, or switch to this category.
Settlement
After a certain time residing in the country and meeting the relevant requirements, you and your dependants will be able to apply for Indefinite Leave to Remain (ILR) and stay as long as you like.
